Locations like this are special, and with far too many memories of holidays shared and storms weathered, selling was just not an option. Sharing the home with travelers needing accommodations made sense and Its safe to say their mother would be proud her home is now being enjoyed by so many.
The decision to completely restore our Inn came almost by accident. One day while repairing a minor crack in the plaster, deteriorated wires were discovered turning a small project into a larger one, the renovation had begun. Ceilings and walls were stripped, bathrooms were added and beautiful hard pine floors uncovered. Some of Southport's most skilled craftsmen joined our efforts in bringing the Inn back to life. The result is a home that looks and feels much the way it did a century ago when Lois Jane's grandfather Richard Dosher first built it.
